system used to detect the Methane Lower Explosive
Limit (LEL) percentage is at the end of its operational life-span and needs to be replaced. The City is seeking submissions from qualified vendors to install a new system at the Environmental Centre in pre-existing buildings and three (3) new buildings all located at the City's Landfill. At the three (3) new buildings, fibre, electrical and mechanical components and a hazardous gas monitoring system will need to be installed. Details on the requirements of this Invitation to Tender (ITT) are provided in the ITT document and attached specifications. The City of Barrie is utilizing a CCDC 4 Unit Price contract. An agreement to bond shall be required in each vendor's submission. The successful bidder shall be required to provide bonding in the form of 50%
Performance and 50% Labour & Materials. A Maintenance and Security Holdback of to be
calculated as three percent (3%) of the total value of the Work performed and Material
supplied, as shown in the monthly progress Payment Certificate will also be required.
